The illusion of movement, of feather-light and heavy, of feminine and masculine, of organic shapes and sleek lines brings an intense tension and aesthetic dynamics that, in addition to beauty, has a deeper intention. Vanderschoot gives a glimpse behind the backdrop of life. It not only shows the beautifully lit and polished stage. The chosen material and techniques refer both to their underlying emotional world and to the procedure of illusion, as a deus ex machina of the blind spot.
